Metadata versus linked data

Most of CMSes still use literals as metadata values. Pretty old fashion and does not ensure strong consistency:

It’s of course better if the values of the author metadata are constrained by a predefined vocabulary, that’s one step ahead, but even better if we say that “Bob” is not just a value, but a “thing” (a person), exists on its own:

Let’s make this a little bit more accurate using linked data terms and also enrich it with more data:
